Chalk: The Campus-wide Course Management System
Academic Technologies lead the implementation of Chalk in 1999 as a course management system for the campus. However, its many features also make it a valuable tool for any group that wishes to improve collaboration and communication among its members.
Faster Web Publishing Through Web Express
Web Express is a new campus tool, offered by Web Services, that simplifies the development and maintenance of websites. Once a site is designed, groups may take control of the content on their sites without knowing HTML. NSIT and other groups on campus are quickly adopting Web Express as their website management tool.
One Number to Ring Them All
One Number is a new telephone feature that allows calls to University phones to be directed to multiple phones at the same time. It is useful for people who move about the University and have to work remotely. One Fax is a related feature that will direct faxes to a desktop computer connected to the Internet.
Changes for Email Addresses
Anyone with a CNetID may now add up to five more email alias addresses to their email accounts. Additionally, the maximum length of the CNetID and aliases has increased to 16 characters; and, the maximum length of the CNet password has increased to 16 characters.
