Introducing WebShare
NSIT is excited to announce the launch of WebShare, a new file sharing service available to all University of Chicago faculty, staff and students.
By logging on with a CNetID and password, you can upload, download, and manage files using an easy and secure web interface. WebShare provides a 1 gigabyte storage quota, allowing ample space for online storage that makes it easy to access your files from any computer that has an internet connection.
WebShare is an especially exciting service because it allows you to transfer larger files than most email attachment limits, and unlike email, it always encrypts your files as they move over the network, providing exceptional security in keeping all documents and potentially sensitive information safe.
In addition to providing expansive and secure space for file storage, WebShare is also great for sharing files easily and securely. You have the ability to grant file access to other CNetID holders and to create "tickets," which allow people without CNetIDs to access only those files that you designate.
While the WebShare interface is extremely user-friendly, the service also offers a wide range of functionality. For detailed information on using WebShare, visit the WebShare Documentation page.
To get started, visit https://webshare.uchicago.edu and log in using your CNetID and password. Your storage space is ready to use.
