BlackBerry Maintenance Scheduled for March 22

University of Chicago BlackBerry users: Please note that RIM, the manufacturer of the BlackBerry smartphone, has scheduled a maintenance period early Saturday morning. This maintenance will begin at Midnight tonight, Chicago time, and should be completed by 4:00 a.m. Saturday morning. RIM reports that a shorter maintenance window is likely.

Access to Internet browsing and to your Outlook Calendar, Tasks, Notes, and Email on your BlackBerry device may be intermittent or delayed during this maintenance window, but no data or email will be lost. Few users will experience any difficulty following the maintenance window and no action will be necessary; however, if you find that your device isn't receiving mail following the maintenance window, try removing the battery for a moment to reset your phone. Any other difficulties may be addressed by calling AT&T at 800-331-0500.

Telephone service on your BlackBerry device will be unaffected by this maintenance window and you will be able to make and receive calls as normal.
