  • Get Help at the Solution Center Before Traveling

    The NSIT Solution Center is hosting an event to help travelers stay connected while away from the University. Join us on Friday, June 13, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on the third floor of the University bookstore.

  • Learn to Identify Fraudulent Email "Phishing" Scams

    Fraudulent emails seeking your personal information are becoming more common and more convincing. NSIT maintains a website with examples of phishing scams and tips on identifying fake URLs to help you identify potential scams.

  • AT&T Blocks Premium Features on University Corporate Phones

    AT&T recently began blocking premium content, such as downloading games and ringtones, and access to other charge-based services, on University corporate phones.

  • Apple is Sponsoring an iWork Contest

    Apple is looking for a student to star in a video ad they are making for the iWork Programs. The contest will accept submissions through June 5.

  • Students: Last Chance to Buy Software at Student Rates

    June 13 is the last day to purchase software under the Campus Agreement before the blackout period of June 16 - June 20.

  • Recycle Your Old Computer Hardware

    Instead of throwing away any old or unused hardware such as computers, printers, or scanners, you can recycle them using NSIT’s free Recycling Program for Computers.

  • Web Express Upgraded

    Web Express is a browser-based editing tool that provides an easy way to maintain your website. On May 27, NSIT upgraded to the newest version of Web Express, Web Express 8.0.

  • Compute Safely While Traveling

    Traveling for either business or pleasure can present special connectivity challenges. NSIT has updated its travel tip sheet containing useful reminders and information on computer and connection security.

  • AT&T Discounts Available to University Staff

    The University has an agreement with AT&T that allows University and Medical Center staff to receive a 15 percent discount on personal cellular phone service plans.

  • Solution Center Punchout Now Available for Buysite Users

    On Monday, May 12, 2008, Buysite users will be able to make purchases from the NSIT Solution Center, formerly the Campus Computer Stores, via a punchout to the O-Store.

  • Attend BlackBerry Training on Thursday, May 22

    We regularly hear from BlackBerry users that they love their phone and wonder what more they can do with it. On May 22, NSIT will be offering BlackBerry training for those interested in learning more about their BlackBerry device.

  • Changes to NSIT Email Servers

    NSIT is replacing its old outbound mail server, smtp.uchicago.edu, with a newer authenticated server, authsmtp.uchicago.edu. You may need to update your email settings.
