Think Twice Before Posting Personal Information Online

It's easy to get caught up in the fun of social networking and forget about the potential dangers. Posting personal information on sites such as Facebook and MySpace significantly increases the odds of people outside of your intended audience viewing your information, potentially earning you unwanted attention.

What's more, potential employers could be swayed in their decisions by embarrassing content they find on the Internet.

You should always think twice before posting detailed personal information, such as phone numbers or addresses, on the Internet. Be cautious about posting photos or descriptions of illegal activities, even as a joke.

It is a good idea to make your profiles viewable only to people you know, and not to everyone in your network. You can also search Google for your name to see what kind of information can be found about you on the Internet.

Learn the dangers of posting personal information on the web by listening to this audio clip.
