Learn About NSIT Services Available for Students

NSIT and the University offer a wide variety of services intended to make your life as a student much easier. Some of them you use on a daily basis, while there are others you may not even know about. We've compiled a tip sheet that briefly describes some of our most useful services and how to start taking advantage of them. Did you know NSIT offers an online file storage and sharing website with 1 gigabyte of free storage? Or that NSIT operates a number of computer sites around campus that offer a standard suite of software including Microsoft Office and Adobe applications? The tip sheet also includes information on using:

  • cIM - a free IM service that lets you chat with other UChicago students
  • IDs and Transportation - the University's Identification and Privileges Office can answer questions about your ID, library accounts, local transportation options, and more
  • Phone Services - low-cost long-distance and other features are available from your residence hall phone
  • Hardware and Software Sales - a wide selection of hardware and software is available at special student rates from the Solution Center
  • Computer Repair - find out what's wrong with your computer and get it repaired at the Solution Center
