Stay Informed About the Status of NSIT Services

Did you know that you can easily learn the status of NSIT-provided services? It's easy with the NSIT traffic light.

The traffic light is a feature that NSIT strives to update whenever we discover or resolve a technology issue with an NSIT-provided service that affects the broader University community. While there are some outages that slip under the radar--and some outages are too small to warrant changing the light, we try to make sure that major disruptions appear on the traffic light. These issues can include downed servers, email outages or planned maintenance to the University network. By visiting the NSIT traffic light, you can get real-time updates and find out when a service is up and running again.

To access the NSIT traffic light, visit the NSIT website at http://nsit.uchicago.edu. The traffic light is on the right side of the page in the System Status box.

You can also subscribe to NSIT's traffic light service using your RSS reader and be the first to know when NSIT is working on or has completed servicing the network or other technology on campus. To subscribe to the RSS feed for the NSIT traffic light, please visit the Status page and click on the RSS subscription link. For more information about RSS and how to subscribe to an RSS feed, see the University's RSS Feeds page.
