Stay Connected While Traveling

As summer approaches, chances are you'll be headed to the airport to embark on a much-needed vacation, attend a conference, or complete an internship in another part of the country or world. Traveling can present special connectivity challenges. Using a computer while traveling, whether it's your own or in a public place like a hotel or library, might make it difficult to access the resources you need. It also increases the risk of unauthorized access to your sensitive information by hackers.

NSIT has updated its travel tip sheet that gives you information on computer and connection security during both domestic and international travel. It provides tips on accessing University resources, checking email, securing your wireless connection if you are using a laptop, and precautions you should take when using public computers.
