Converting Address Books

Address book conversions are a major headache in moving from one mail client to another. This page is designed as a starting point for the process; unfortunately, the topic is far too expansive for us to cover anything more than the tip of the iceberg.

The best resource for this issue is InterGuru's Address Book Conversion page. On this page, you'll find a plethora of resources and information to assist you.

Converting Address Books to Eudora

From Outlook/Outlook Express/Netscape Mail

To import address books to Eudora from one of these mail clients, open Eudora, go the the "File" menu, and select "Import" (note, this will only work for the Windows version of the software). You will be presented with a list of possible address books to import if Eudora detects any; you also have the choice of importing the address book from file for each of those versions, but you'll need know where the file exists on your hard drive.

From Webmail

At this time, Webmail's export address book feature does not work correctly. We hope to improve this in future versions of the software.

From Pine

It is theoretically possible to import mail from pine to Eudora by using Netscape's mail program as a go between. The results, however, are not predictable or reliable enough that we recommend trying it.
