Entourage 2008 for xMail
Due to the release of Office 2008 for Mac, we are no longer recommending the use of Office 2004 or Entourage 2004. Office 2008 contains Entourage 2008, a vastly improved client for use with xMail. Anyone capable of upgrading to the new software should do so as soon as possible.
- Obtain and install a copy of Office 2008 for Mac.
- Before opening Entourage for the first time, NSIT recommends using Microsoft's AutoUpdate utility to obtain any updates necessary for your software. These updates can help improve your software's reliability, speed, and ease of use. This utility is located in your Mac's Applications folder. You may need to run it more than once to apply all updates – it will tell you when there are no new updates available.
- Launch Entourage by going to Applications → Microsoft Office 2008 → Microsoft Entourage.
- Note: If the Setup Assistant opens, click cancel.
- Go to Tools → Accounts.
- On the Mail tab, click New in the upper left corner. Select Exchange.
- The Account Setup Assistant will open. Check the box that says, My account is on an Exchange server. Then click on Configure Account Manually in the lower left corner.
- The Edit Account window will open. Fill in the information as below:
- Click the Advanced tab. Fill in the information as below:
- Click OK.
You now should be able to access your xMail mailbox!
