Documentation - home.uchicago.edu
home.uchicago.edu
home.uchicago.edu, a space on University servers for your personal home page.
On April 30th, 2009, a disk failure began causing problems for users of harper, NSIT's central interactive Unix system, which also impacted service for home.uchicago.edu, NSIT's central personal web page service. At the time of the failure, NSIT was planning to move the personal home page services of home.uchicago.edu off of harper - this unplanned disk failure has accelerated these plans.
Personal home pages are now being hosted on the same infrastructure which hosts the main University of Chicago web presence - webspace.uchicago.edu. If you already maintain and update websites on webspace.uchicago.edu, you will see a link to your personal home page (public_html) alongside the other sites you maintain; if not, please see the "Getting Started" section below.
What's new:

What hasn't changed:
- Personal home pages are still viewed using the URL http://home.uchicago.edu/~cnetid/
- Quotas remain at 20 megabytes
- .htaccess files will still work, using the same paths as before
