Uploading content to webspace.uchicago.edu
This step-by-step tutorial assumes you are using Fugu, a Macintosh STFP client for OS X or higher. If you don't have Fugu, the Connectivity Package includes it.
Getting connected to webspace.uchicago.edu
- Go to Macintosh HD → Applications → Fugu.
- Fill in the information below
- Connect to: webspace.uchicago.edu
- User name: CNetID
- Port: 22
- Click Add to Favorites.
Uploading content to webspace.uchicago.edu
- Go to Macintosh HD → Applications → Fugu.
- Click on the "Earth Globe" icon below the Connect to: box.
- Select webspace.uchicago.edu.
- Note: You will be prompted for your password.
- On the right-hand side, click on the folder named public_html.
- To copy content to your webspace.uchicago.edu webspace simply left click on a file on the left side panel and drag it to the right panel.
- Please avoid spaces and punctuation other than . - _ in filenames.
- To test the file that was just uploaded open up a web browser and go to http://home.uchicago.edu/~cnetid/filename
- Note: The filename is case sensitive.
