Uploading content to webspace.uchicago.edu

This step-by-step tutorial assumes you are using Fugu, a Macintosh STFP client for OS X or higher. If you don't have Fugu, the Connectivity Package includes it.

Getting connected to webspace.uchicago.edu

  1. Go to Macintosh HDApplicationsFugu.
  2. Fill in the information below
    • Connect to: webspace.uchicago.edu
    • User name: CNetID
    • Port: 22
  3. Click Add to Favorites.

Uploading content to webspace.uchicago.edu

  1. Go to Macintosh HDApplicationsFugu.
  2. Click on the "Earth Globe" icon below the Connect to: box.
  3. Select webspace.uchicago.edu.
    • Note: You will be prompted for your password.
  4. On the right-hand side, click on the folder named public_html.
  5. To copy content to your webspace.uchicago.edu webspace simply left click on a file on the left side panel and drag it to the right panel.
    • Please avoid spaces and punctuation other than . - _ in filenames.
  6. To test the file that was just uploaded open up a web browser and go to http://home.uchicago.edu/~cnetid/filename
    • Note: The filename is case sensitive.
