AT&T Global Networking Services

The AT&T Global Corporate Network Program is no longer being offered.

Recommendations are being made to existing Corporate clients about alternatives to this service. Those interested in mobile laptop connectivity should consider the AT&T Wireless Data Card in our Cellular site or the AT&T Global Service for Friends of the University or University Services Network Programs, which remain available to the faculty, staff, students, University alumni, affiliated organizations, and friends of the University.

These services are designed to provide dial-in internet access through AT&T's network of over 1000 POPs (Points of Presence) throughout the world. AT&T Global Network Services offers users the ability to dial a local number for dial-in services wherever they may be. By selecting to use a regional phone number whether travelling domestically or internationally, you will be charged at that region's local phone rate. Also, for an additional fee, an 800 number is available for access in any remote location where a local number is not available.

Why discontinue Corporate Services?

Dial-up service is becoming archaic.

  • It is slower than wireless alternative technologies. As wireless technologies continue to ramp up speed, dial-up has not seen similar advances.
  • Dial-up requires access to a fixed landline while wireless options offer now nearly ubiquitous travel.
  • Costs to the client for wireless and dial-up have become comparable.
  • Subscriptions to this service have fallen off dramatically as other options have arisen and costs to maintain Corporate service are rising.

What do I do if I really need this specific service?
