Web Services

What We Do

Web Services brings a wealth of experience to clients' projects, including:

Process Analysis and Consultation - Web Services works with clients to analyze their current business processes and suggests web technology solutions where appropriate.

User Interface/Graphic Design - Our staff include experienced information architects, graphic designers and experts in standards of usability and accessibility, who can work with clients on projects ranging from information graphics to full user interface design. Take a look at sample designs in our portfolio.

Web Application Design and Programming - Having created web applications for a diverse set of critical processes (e.g., course registration, admission applications), Web Services is uniquely positioned to help clients use data from central administrative and academic systems to their advantage when needed.

Multimedia Content Coordination - Web Services repurposes multimedia content from publications and websites across campus. We work with clients to develop rotation schedules and analyze their current content and suggest improvements.

Functionality Testing - Web Services conducts functionality testing with internal staff, clients and user groups to ensure the website or application works as planned and meets the highest standards of usability.

Risk Analysis and Security Review - The need for sensitive data is evaluated as part of the initial analysis of a project. After working with the client to determine the potential for risk, Web Services will ensure the appropriate level of security is enforced in the web application and will closely review all programming code to meet strict security standards.

Long-term Support - Working closely with clients, Web Services provides on-going support for websites and applications after launch.

Periodic maintenance of applications - Both static sites and (more commonly) applications coded by Web Services use technologies, platforms and standards that are subject to change.  All website and applications will require a certain degree of maintenance and care over its lifetime, similar to the maintenance of a car.   When technology changes/upgrades occur, and the recoding work needs to happen, Web Services will contact you in advance to explain the nature and need for the change and to provide estimates for planning purposes.
