An Authcode (Authorization Code) is used to make calls while on campus using the University's phone system. This personal Authcode identifies you as the caller for billing purposes.The University of Chicago telephone operators will not place calls for callers who want to use their Authcode and are outside the University of Chicago Campus or Medical Center. Some phones are set up so that an Authcode is required to make a local telephone call.
