Recycling Programs for Computers
If you have a computer, functional or broken, that you no longer have a use for, you can donate it to the Computer Recycling Program. We will accept computers, laptops, monitors, keyboards, modems, printers, and scanners.
Working computers will be refurbished and donated to local charities and schools. Non-working computers will be processed in an environmentally sound manner, not dumped in a landfill.
There is no charge to University of Chicago departments for recycling.
Hardware can be dropped off at the NSIT Solution Center Warehouse located at 6019 S Kimbark Ave, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. We can also pick up a small amount of computer hardware at your location. If you would like schedule an appointment, call 773-702-7913 or email us at computer-recycling@lists.uchicago.edu. The Recycling Program operates free of charge.
