WebShare
WebShare is a web-based file sharing tool available to students, staff and faculty. WebShare is a great way to store, share and access files that you legally own. Designed for collaboration and quick distribution, WebShare's ticketing and permissions system allows users to set up customized sharing groups, email files, make public and private directories, and let individuals outside the University access their files. Your WebShare directory has one gigabyte of storage. To access your WebShare directory, go to the WebShare homepage and log in using your CNetID and password.
For example, suppose you want to work on your term paper over several days. You want to be sure you’re always working on the latest version. In the past, you might have emailed yourself versions of the paper, cluttering up your inbox and leaving doubt as to the latest copy of the paper. But WebShare lets you upload the latest file to a single location. WebShare is also great for transferring files between multiple computers, such as your office and home. With WebShare you can keep these files in an organized manner rather than having to dig them back out of your email. Perhaps most convenient, WebShare’s one gigabyte of free space gives you a simple way to store and share files that are too large to send easily via email.
Note: Faculty and staff should check with their departments before using WebShare for work (there may be other department-specific fileshare services available).
