Apple iPhone 3G to be available to educational market July 11
The new model includes some remarkable innovations that we wish to highlight.
- 3G Cellular Data Network - The cellular data network speed has been increased nearly threefold, which means that surfing the web on your phone has never been quicker.
- Wireless Enterprise (xMail) support - Unlike the earlier model, the new iPhone will feature email capabilities that seamlessly integrate wirelessly Exchange and xMail, making it compatible with your University email account.
- Third party application support - Customizable applications are now available. Additionally, an enterprise (or professor) can publish a custom application that can be delivered to your phone specifically.
- Additional features - The iPhone will also include GPS technology, improved audio, additional foreign language capability, and Chinese and Japanese character recongition
Best of all, the price of both the 8 and 16 gigabyte models have been reduced by $200. The 8 gigabyte phone will sell for $199, and the 16 gigabyte phone, available in black or white, will sell for $299.
