Macintosh Connectivity Software

NSIT provides the following customized software packages to help members of the University community use NSIT services more easily. The documentation walks you through getting started with these applications.

These packages require Mac OS X 10.4 or 10.5; at least 512 MB RAM is recommended.

• Thunderbird 2.0.0.16 - Thunderbird is a secure and powerful email client

• Firefox 3.0.1 - Firefox is NSIT's recommended web browser

• Spark 2.5.8 - Spark allows you to easily communicate in real-time via text-based chat - more commonly known as Instant Messaging

• Fugu 1.2.0 (SFTP Client) - Fugu allows you to upload and download files from NSIT web servers (e.g. home.uchicago.edu

• Crescat 1.1.2 (SSH Client) - Crescat allows you to start shell sessions on NSIT servers
