Event Calendar
New Features
As of September 9, we fixed several bugs relating to data display in the events calendar. We are continuing our beta-test of tagging with selected clients.
Beta: Event Tagging
We're beta-testing new functionality that allows an administrator to filter events by client-set text identifiers or "tags." This means that the calendar will be even more flexible in displaying events. Once we're satisfied that tagging is ready for a wider launch, tagging will be available to all calendar users.
As of August 6, the events calendar was upgraded to include:
Navigation Changes
We’ve added navigation links to the today, week, and month views. These links
can easily be found on each of these pages, so moving from one view to another
is always at your fingertips.
We’ve also added links on the today / week / month views that allow you to move incrementally forward and back through the event listings for that time frame. So, you can move forward day by day, week by week, and month by month.
Exporting / Sharing Events on iCAL, Google, Facebook, Twitter, and More!
Every event listed on the main campus calendar has an Export Event link next
to
it. Clicking on this link allows you to add the event to your Mac iCal, Google
Calendar, or other ICS-based calendar.
It is now possible for your events to be shared via email, Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, and many other applications! This option is found on the event detail page that is accessed after clicking on the event title.
Enhanced Readability
We’ve moved the event listings up higher on the page to decrease the amount
of scrolling necessary to find them. To do this, we moved the search feature,
but don’t worry — it’s just a little lower on the page (lower-left, to be
exact).
The week and month views of events are now displayed in a text format with each day clearly marked.
Revised Documentation
Calendar documentation has been updated with frequently asked questions and documentation for recent enhancements.
