Computer Leasing

NSIT's Computer Leasing program saves departments valuable time by minimizing time lost to potential hardware failures. All leased computers include imaged hard drives; in the event of a hardware issue, NSIT can quickly replace the problem machine with one pre-installed with the standard suite of programs.

NSIT also offers an optional Fee-Based Support program in conjunction with the leasing program. While the leasing program covers the supplied hardware, the support program is designed to protect clients' data. The program covers centralized backups and data transfer between leased computers. Future features will include updating software and operating systems over the network.

The leasing program is ideal for both small and large departments. Small departments without full-time computer support personnel can use the leasing and fee-based support programs as an alternative. When combined with the services of the NSIT Support Line, the programs cover hardware replacement, data protection, and assistance with standard University software.

Large departments, which may already have support staff can also benefit from the leasing and support programs. Because the programs design can deal quickly and efficiently with any hardware and/or low-level operating system problems, support personnel can be freed from worrying about these issues, allowing them to concentrate on meeting other computer needs within the department.
