Paging
NSIT Integrated Client Services & Support offers paging for the University. For Hospitals and BSD paging services, please contact the Hospitals Call Center at 4-DIAL (4-3425). Several easy-to-use features will increase your productivity and provide more flexibility for your communication needs.
All features and functions are accessed through a single number: 195 from on campus (773-834-1955 from off campus). From any touch-tone telephone you will be able to:
- page another page holder;
- pick up your messages;
- register your paging Status and listen to the list of available Status Codes
- forward pages to a Covering person or an outside phone number;
- create your own greeting and spoken name;
- send a text message via e-mail or the web;
- create a Password to protect your pager functions and messages. (While a Password is not required, we strongly recommend that all page holders use one.)
All of this can be done without the assistance of an operator; a voice will prompt you through each page or function, which you can access in any order.
Currently, we offer local paging services (numeric and alphanumeric) and nationwide paging services by special request. Paging Express Mail is also available. This option allows pager holders to be paged to the phone number listed or to Voicemail; the caller chooses where to send the page. *A University of Chicago pager and Voicemail are required for this option.
