Types of Services and Pricing
The Hardware Service Department has Certified Warranty Technicians for Apple, Dell, HP and Lenovo. For brands that are not certified, please call ahead for information as prices and serviceability may vary. These rates are current as of March 2, 2009.
Service Fee
A non-refundable $40 service fee will be assessed to each piece of equipment delivered to the Hardware Service Department for examination and/or diagnosis. This fee is in addition to any service charges incurred during repair or service of the equipment. If the item is under warranty, this fee does not apply.Diagnostics Turnaround Time for Carry-In Service
Diagnostics/Repairs Pricing
In Warranty Service
- There is no diagnostic fee and no charge for parts or labor for machines under standard manufacturer's warranty.
- Operating System and any software-related issues are not covered under manufacturers' warranty. This is a billable service.
- Batteries have a 1 year hardware manufacturer's warranty.
Out of Warranty Service
- Standard Diagnostics: $40.00 flat rate per machine
- Expedite Diagnostics: $50.00 flat rate per machine (plus labor and diagnostic fee)
- Labor: $95.00 flat rate per machine
- Data Transfer: $50.00 per hour per machine (one hour minimum plus labor)
- Troubleshooting Wireless Connection: $45.00 flat rate per machine
Installation Service
- Memory (laptop/desktop): $35.00 flat rate per machine
- Hardware upgrade (Hard drive, CD/DVD drive, Wireless cards, Video cards): $45.00 flat rate per machine
- Software Applications: $45.00 flat rate per machine, per application (user must provide software)
- Operating System with Critical Security Updates and Device Drivers (user must provide OS): $135.00 flat rate per machine
Departmental On-Site Printer Service
- HP LaserJet and Xerox Phaser: $120.00 (flat rate per printer except under warranty)

Notebook Rental for Departments
Please call and reserve at least 7 days in advance due to limited availability. Departments must provide a signed Form 62 upon pickup of notebook.
- $75.00 per week per machine
Storage Fee
All equipment must be picked up within 30 days of completion or a $45 per month fee will to be added to the cost of Service Repair Order.
