We are reaching out to notify members of the University technical community and past users of the Gartner research service of the following development:
For several years, the University of Chicago has subscribed to campuswide web access to Gartner research on information technology. Unfortunately, funding issues, including substantial price increases, make it impossible for us to continue offering this service.
Like you, we regret the loss of this resource, and will be seeking alternate sources for the IT research we need. If we are able to find a replacement resource for a more reasonable cost, we will let you know.
NSIT contracts with firms that provide technology research services in order to be sure that we are in synch with the latest trends and best practices in technology. At present, The University of Chicago subscribes to certain services provided by the Burton Group. The extensive databases of articles and reports cover many subjects that fall under the broad topic of information technology, and any member of the University community interested in researching information technology and the business behind it may find the Burton Group a valuable resource. Please be aware that both of these services are arranged under contract, and their availability is not guaranteed in the future.
