How do I use the Speech Recognition system?

  • Dial 161 from on-campus or 773-702-1610 from off-campus.
  • At any time during the greeting, say the first and last name of the person or name of the department you'd like to reach.
  • The system will confirm the name by speaking it back and then will transfer the call.
  • If the system doesn't recognize the name, you will be transferred to the operator (to be transferred to the operator directly, say the word "operator" at any time).
