NSIT Desktop Learning Group Training Services
We offer technology training that provides opportunities for faculty, staff, and students to acquire technology confidence and expertise in a relaxed, hands-on format and tailored to address various learning styles. Training venues include customized classes, workshops, lunch and learns, and ongoing training support. Short sessions assist to maximize your time spent in training. We focus on end-user applications such as Microsoft Office, Adobe, and University specific software packages.
Scheduled Classroom Instruction
Training opportunities are published on a quarterly basis via the department's website, email announcements, and other University communication tools.
Customized Group Training
For departments looking to tailor course content to specific working environments and projects, our professional trainers will work with you to develop a custom training solution to fit your needs.
Executive Training
For Director level and above individuals with specific needs or extremely limited availability, we offer personalized, one-on-one instruction at your location or the NSIT training lab.
NSIT Training Lab Reservation
The NSIT training lab is available to external departments for their training needs, based upon availability. Customized services are also available to meet departmental training needs for reasonable rates. Lab Equipment
The lab is equipped with 17 MMP Dell Optiplex GX620's with 17" flat panel monitors, a Sharp Notevision remote control overhead projector, a HP 4000TN printer, a Polycom 512 ViewStation for teleconferencing purposes, and an eight (8) seat conference table. Additional instructional aids include a whiteboard, a RF mouse and a GN Netcom microphone. To facilitate all-day sessions, food and drink are allowed with prior notification.
Training Room Software
Windows XP, Office 2007, and other standard University administrative tools are available on each workstation. Other software may be loaded as needed, and requested. Please inform us when making a reservation of any software needs, licensing requirements and/or system configurations that are needed to make your training session a successful one.
