Information for New Students

Welcome to the University of Chicago. Networking Services and Information Technologies (NSIT) is in charge of the computer and telephone networks on campus, as well as numerous services such as email and file sharing.
College students: we look forward to welcoming you in person at the O-Fest celebration. On that day, you'll receive your Chicago Identification Card, an Ethernet cable to connect to the network, and lots of useful information to help you take advantage of technology.
Graduate students: we look forward to welcoming you in person at Graduate Student Orientation. You can also check out the orientation pages on the Graduate and Professional Student Gateway and Office of Graduate Affairs websites.
In the meantime, please review this brief Technology Guide so that you can learn about information technology at the University of Chicago and get started right away by claiming your Chicago Network Identifier (CNetID).
